Before initiating the transfer process, it’s essential to get in touch with Bullets & Bows to inform them about your intention to transfer a firearm. You can reach out to them via phone 337-334-0033 or email Service@bulletsandbows.com to discuss the details of the transfer and any specific requirements they may have.
Step 2: Gather Required Information
To facilitate the transfer process, we will need to gather some essential information, including:
-
- Your personal details (name, address, contact information)
-
- Details of the firearm you intend to transfer (make, model, serial number)
-
- Any pertinent documentation related to the firearm (purchase receipt, ownership documents)
Having this information readily available will streamline the transfer process and ensure everything moves smoothly.
Step 3: Arrange for Firearm Shipment
Once you’ve coordinated with Bullets & Bows and gathered all the necessary information, you’ll need to arrange for the shipment of the firearm to their location. Ensure that you comply with all federal and state laws regarding the shipping of firearms to avoid any legal complications.
Step 4: Visit Bullets & Bows  for Background Check
Once the firearm has been delivered to our location, you will need to visit Bullets & Bows to complete the transfer process.
We charge a receiving/background check fee of $35.00 for the first standard non-NFA transfers and an additional $10 for every additional transferable serial number we have to log into our books.
If items are received on a separate day or in a separate shipment the $35.00 fee will apply to that new shipment along with the additional $10.00 fee for any additional serialized items in that shipment.
Step 5: Complete Transfer Paperwork
Before leaving Bullets & Bows premises, ensure that you complete all necessary paperwork related to the firearm transfer. This may include filling out a transfer form, providing identification, and signing any required documents.
Step 6: Take Possession of the Firearm
Once all paperwork is completed and the background check has been approved, you will be able to take possession of the transferred firearm. If you are delayed on the background check for any reason, you will be notified once we have the approval and can schedule another day to pick up your firearm.Â
